Butte Tournament- WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

Montana Young Guns win Butte Copper King Tourney: At Butte, the Montana Young Guns 13U baseball team captured the 2012 Butte Copper King championship over the weekend in the Mining City. The Young Guns are comprised of players from Belgrade, Bozeman and Livingston.
In pool play, the Young Guns defeated the Missoula Jr. Osprey, Butte Copper Kings, Missoula Bombers, and dropped a decision to the Helena Merchants.
In the championship game, the Young Guns defeated the Missoula Bombers 4-3. The Young Guns got on the scoreboard first as Trey Mounts singled and eventually scored on a wild pitch. In the bottom of the third, Evan Luhrsen legged out a triple and scored on a Buck Spallone sacrifice fly.
Spallone held the Bombers hitless through four innings, including four strikeouts. In the top of the fifth, Missoula posted three runs off of Mounts to take a one run advantage, but Brady Schulz came in closed the door on the inning.
The Young Guns tied the contest at three-all following a walk to Spallone, who eventually scored on Mounts’ RBI single in the bottom of the fifth. In the bottom of the sixth, the Young Guns took the lead for good after Emmanuel Eudave took second on a Missoula throwing error, eventually scoring on a wild pitch.
Schulz got the win on the hill, pitching 2 2/3 innings, giving up no hits with three strikeouts.
The Montana Young Guns include Eudave, Luhrsen, Mounts, Schulz, Spallone, Will Holloran, Jared Jacks, Jordan Lindsay, Colby Minert, Jake Murfitt and Bailey Paddock.
